THE UCAM RENEWS SITO ALONSO FOR TWO MORE SEASONS

THE MURCIAN TEAM ANNOUNCED THAT THE COACH FROM MADRID WILL STAY ON THE TEAM. HE SAVED THE TEAM AFTER PICKING THEM UP IN A LOW POSITION IN JANUARY.

UCAM Murcia announced through social media that Sito Alonso’s contract has been renewed for two more seasons. The Madrid coach entered as a substitute for Javi Juarez. Juarez was dragging the team to rock bottom, with terrible results on the first quarter of Endesa League.

Alonso took UCAM after the 18th period. The murcians had seven consecutive losses and were in a noticeable decrease with 5 wins and 13 looses. Once Sito got in, Murcia took some fresh air breath and built up seven victories within the next 16 matches, leading to a total of 12-22.

The before mentioned number is enough to sustain their category, eventhough it was a bit dissapointing due to the evolution demostrated by the team on the last seasons. Hopes are on this season, the Cup and playoffs.
